"But, I'm not photogenic..."

I have heard the following statements so many times from clients, and I understand. I am sharing to shed some light on these from my perspective.

"I am not photogenic."

I hear this all the time: you are not alone!

It is not your job to be 'good' in front of the camera. I don't photograph models. I pose you and direct you the entire time, so you don't have to worry about a thing.

My portrait studio is a zero-judgment, safe, and comfortable zone specializing in creating your portraits. I guide you the whole time. It is more like a conversation through which we take photos.

We all have times in life when we feel like we are not in our best shape or feeling more down than usual. But I have witnessed countless times what a positive impact a great portrait can be. You will walk out of the studio with a boost and ready to tackle any challenge ahead of you.

"I hate having my photo taken."

I have had some bad experiences myself. I totally understand. The thing is, it is a million times easier when I am directing you exactly what to do, and I promise you will finally have photos of yourself that you love.

I can assure you that a photo shoot with me will be fun. This is something I pride myself on because I know it is intimidating.

My favorite clients are people who hate having their photos taken. I will direct you and pose you through your entire photoshoot so that you can finally have photos you love.

"I don't know what to wear."

My clients sometimes bring their whole closet, and I help them decide. The good thing is that you can change into multiple outfits, so you don't have to worry about picking just one look. (See blog post on "What to wear to you Portrait Photo Shoot.")

'I just need one photo, I don't need more. Can you make me a smaller package? "

I am convinced that nowadays, you need more than one portrait if you want your personal brand to have the strong impact it deserves. The ‘beginner’ mistake we all make is to use that one professional headshot for all our needs, whatever the platform or project.

Exactly like the fact that you don’t have just one personality trait, just one expertise, and just one skill, you should not have just one portrait. You deserve to have different portraits to show all your personality facets through the different media you choose.

You may also need several portraits to use as different marketing tools depending on the project or your target. For example, you may want a more business like portrait for Linkedin and a more casual portrait for your personal Facebook page. Perhaps you want your website photo to have a totally different feel as well as have a variety of photos to post on Instagram to keep your traction and keep you content fresh. You may also find that you need different portraits with a variety of looks and vibes. The list is endless. You may need photos for press releases, annual reports, business plans, speaking engagements, podcasts, guest blogging, online articles, etc.

"I'm worried I won't look like myself in the photos."

This is YOUR photo shoot, and I want you to feel comfortable to be yourself. I also make sure to edit the photos the way you want them - with either very natural editing or heavier. It's totally up to you.

"My last photos are from 10 years ago."

No way! We need to change that. My clients love their photos and experiences so much that they end up coming back every year.

"I'm too nervous to do it."

That is such a normal feeling - 99% of my clients felt the same way and left saying that they had such a great time. I promise I will take great care of you.

"I have no photos on my website."

We have to change that. People hire you for YOU, and they want to get to know you.

"I wasn't planning to spend that much money on photos."

But think about how amazing it will be when you have endless content to post on your website, social media, in your email signature, and on LinkedIn. It ends up being priceless and so worth it.
