Amanda

Dec 6, 2024

I met Amanda at a yoga teacher training in 2014 in Boulder. I have had the pleasure of taking her headshots for work as well as photos of her daughters. But this time, she needed images that expressed her exciting new business venture: To coach and help women and couples regain their passion and vibration in love.

She also works with breathwork as a form of energy healing that allows people to break through any stored emotions or trauma while recalibrating their nervous system. She is quite the lady, and I was honored to take her photos once again. She wants to use these photos for social media posts and her website.

We went down to the Boulder Creek to play with the flow of water and the grounded-ness of the surrounding boulders for a peaceful and soulful photo shoot.

I asked Amanda about her journey here in Boulder.

"I came to Boulder for the first time in 2010 with friends to see some live music. I was instantly drawn to Boulder and wanted to move here. The people, the mountains, the energy- all of it felt like the home I hadn't yet experienced. After leaving the area for 6 years I returned to Boulder, this time with two kids and the desire to create our life in the community that still felt like home, our home."

What does Boulder mean to you?

"To me, Boulder means possibility. This is such a special place that has shifted my own sense of belonging and with that, anything is possible."

What is the most special memory you have of Boulder?

"My most special memory of Boulder is the flood that happened in 2014. I remember walking around downtown with everything flooded and even though it was a time of tragic loss and disaster- Boulder still felt safe and magical to me."

What are some of your favorite places in Boulder? Trails, Parks? Places that perhaps you have a spiritual connection or feel its strength and wisdom. Places you feel truly connected and at peace?

"My favorite places in Boulder are the Boulder Creek path that goes up the canyon. It's a fun hike, and I've seen lots of wildlife here that have felt very connected to the spiritual messages I've needed in those moments. I also love anywhere I can hear the creek. I love hiking Mt Sanitas and Wonderland Lake as well as visiting the North Boulder area where Lucky's market is located. There's something special about that pocket of town ;)"

If you could use one or two words to describe Boulder, what would it be?

"Magical Muse"
